Provide a Streamlined Event Registration System
Family Foundations Canada came to donor.com needing a fast and easy way to register people for events. Their mission is to provide courses and content for seminars set up at venues around the country. Local agents are involved in organizing each event, so signups, advertising and running successful events are critical to their mission.
Providing event information on the web is key, since it informs both registered and prospective attendees. This requires a streamlined ability to manage the setup of those events. Venues have unique requirements that are easily handled by copying a standardized template and customizing it. The registration process is streamlined for both attendees and Family Foundations Canada.
Event availability and course content need to be updated at all times without requiring someone to make constant edits to the website. Registration details need to be collected online and pushed down to the database, which also feeds reporting about attendance and payment status to local organizers.
The Results
Easy Event Registration
Donor.com met this need with a web gadget that works with the events defined in our software. Once events are created in the system, all the online updates, registrations and data for reporting becomes automatic.
Event Registration allows models or templates that can be copied and customized so the same format is easily set up for standard sessions. Many standard sessions can then easily be copied to a new location, date and time and customized to meet the requirements of that specific space.
Events can be a single date and time, or include multiple days. Hotel block reservations can also be included with bed types, meal information and even hotel room sharing.
Dates for online registration to open and close are automatically handled from the template as a new event is organized around a start date: Time for registration to open, run, and then close is automatically determined from the actual event date, and the timing specified in the template.
Attendees can sign up, save a registration half-completed, return and continue, make deposits, and handle other people attending with them. Confirmation emails are automatic.
Each event allows for custom questions to be completed for each event. If passports or other private documentation is required, these items can be uploaded securely and attached to each registration.
